G.S. Kelsey Construction completed this residential scheme in April 2017 after 38 weeks on site. Built on the site of an old picture house the developer named the building Majestic House, as a nod to the old “Majestic Cinema”. The site sat idle for a number of years after the creation of a VUE Cinema at the bottom of Scunthorpe High Street.  A local developer purchased the site and after a completive tender exercise, G.S. Kelsey were awarded the design and build contract to construct 12 Nr new luxury apartments.

Our in-house design coordinators worked collaboratively with consultants and North Lincolnshire Building Control office to develop the scheme for building regulation compliance.

Completed to an exemplary standard, the developer was able to let all 12 apartments within weeks of its completion in May 2017.

The building itself is constructed from a steel frame with brickwork facades. Zinc linings surround windows provide a break in the       elevations. This project is a great advert for the work of G.S. Kelsey Construction and the prominent town centre location was a driver for local workman.  Having something on their resume which looks as striking as it does plus having it in their home town became a real motivator for quality.

G.S. Kelsey partnered with North Lincolnshire Councils building control department for the site inspection and building sign off. NLC LABC also liaised with building control departments at Leeds City Council as their office had initially consulted on plans during the design phase as the project architect was based in West Yorkshire.
