Client: Peggy’s World
Site Manager: Rob McMahon

Having met a number of years prior at a community champion awards our director was contacted by the leadership team at Peggys World to assist with the management and building of a new dementia living facility in Ashby, Scunthorpe.

Matthew worked closely with Peggy’s world CIC (Community Interest Company) 3 months prior to a start on site to refine the designs and provide cost management advice. Our site team, headed by Rob McMahon built an extension over two storeys consisting of 2nr new bedrooms a ground floor lounge, a new kitchen and the formation of new office space.

During the project GS Kelsey employees attended a dementia awareness day hosted by the leadership team at Peggy’s World. It was a highly informative event and proved useful for a number of our own employees who went on to work on another dementia-supported living scheme at Warwick Road in Scunthorpe.

Peggy’s world provides daycare and inpatient care for individuals and families suffering with dementia. Unfortunately, the family-run CIC has been disrupted by the covid-19 pandemic with the project completion delayed by up to 8 weeks because of the National lockdown imposed in March 2020. The facility despite been completed in 2020 has yet to fully re-open (at time of writing – April 2021) and operate as intended.

We wish Peggy’s world all the best future in the building and welcome the relaunch of their much-needed service to individuals and their families.
